Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing has taken its birth from Kalinga Bharati Foundation (KBF)¸ a Charitable Trust¸ established and promoted by eminent educationists and professionals. The college is named in commemoration of Late Manjari Patnaik wife of Late Prana Nath Patnaik¸ the great freedom fighter¸ writer and social worker of Khurda.

Manjari Devi College and School of Nursing has been running since 2005 with the due permission from Govt. of Odisha¸ Health & Family Welfare Department¸ Odisha Nursing Council¸ Indian Nursing Council¸ New Delhi and affiliated to Utkal University and Odisha Nurses & Midwives Examination Board. It imparts high quality nursing education in the state of Odisha.
