DESCRIPTION :

Swami Shraddhanand College is one of the institutions of higher education in the University of Delhi located in the rural suburbs of the city. It is situated in the semi-rural ambience of North Delhi. It had a humble beginning at Gandhi Ashram building in Narela forty-six years ago. The institute has made great strides to become one of the premier institutes of the University of Delhi. The college is committed to help students become mature and responsible citizens of tomorrow. It attempts to provide an integrated and multi-disciplinary education that can help students to discover their true potential. The college has a highly qualified and dedicated teaching and nonteaching staff and is well-equipped with specialized laboratories and a spacious and well-stocked library. It has always been an endeavor of the college administration and teaching faculty to introduce new technologies to its students. The college is fully computerized and also integrated with the University of Delhi Library Systems. The college has an extensive lush green playground which provides an excellent opportunity for sports persons and athletes to practice and improve their skills and capabilities. Scholarships are provided to the minority students and freeships are given to students from economically weaker sections. Every year a number of prizes are awarded to meritorious students for their extraordinary achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities. The student's societies and associations play a vital role in improving the academic environ of the college. For each subject¸ there is a society to stimulate the interest of the students in the subject and establish its links with society at large. The societies and associations sponsors lectures¸ seminars¸ exhibitions etc.¸ and undertake programmes and organize activities to make the subject more interesting and relevant. Various cultural societies of the college provide opportunities to students to exhibit their talents in the fields of music¸ dance¸ debating¸ drama¸ etc and thus making the campus bubbling with life.
