DESCRIPTION :

The Delhi Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (DIHM)¸ erstwhile Food Craft Institute¸ was established in 1983 by the Ministry of Tourism¸ Government of India in association with the Government of Delhi as Food Craft Institute (Polytechnic) for training in trades & crafts in hotel & catering operations.
The Institute made a humble beginning from a portion of the Polytechnic building at Kashmere Gate¸ Delhi . Subsequently the Institute  moved into its present location at Lajpat Nagar-IV. The growth in the Hospitality industry has necessitated upgradation of Food Crafts Institute to a full- fledged Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology with unstinted support of the Government of Delhi in 1999. The first batch of the three-year diploma students passed out in the year 2002 and got successfully placed in the Hospitality Industry. In the year 2003¸ the first batch of the Degree programme passed out. Over the years¸ the Institute has made rapid progress and earned qualitative reputation in its own field.
